Here\u2019s what you need to know about the YouTube merch shelf.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is a YouTube merch shelf?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">YouTube now has a merch shelf feature that allows creators to display their official merchandise. The feature appears on your video page below the description box. It can show up to 12 products that you can select and organise to your liking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BAwDBN4Ldz0\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BAwDBN4Ldz0<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Are you eligible for this feature?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To be eligible for the YouTube merch shelf you need to meet the following criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have over 10,000 subscribers\/have an Official Artist Channel<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be a part of the YouTube Partner Program<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your channel audience is not set as \u2018Made for Kids\u2019<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your channel should not have received any Community Guideline Strikes<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apart from these criteria, your merchandise should also be available in one of YouTube\u2019s supported merch retailers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Community Guidelines: YouTube\u2019s Rules of the Road (Part 1)\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gw-uctVZT00?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>When and why should you start selling merchandise?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How will you know if you\u2019re ready to start selling merchandise? Just look at your comments and you\u2019ll get your answer. If your viewers are genuinely asking you to create some designs, or even just quoting lines from your videos, these can be signs to make your merchandise.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Selling merchandise can serve as an additional source of income. Many creators have focused on making merchandise to supplement their expenses. But this does require a lot of initial groundwork. If your channel is eligible for the merch shelf feature, you will see a \u2018Merchandise\u2019 Tab here.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Follow the on-screen instructions to link your official merch store.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once linked, you will be able to select upto 12 of your merch products.
