YouTube\u2019s Community Guidelines dictate the rules that YouTube videos should follow. These rules cover a wide range of parameters that specify the kind of content that can be shown on YouTube. So if your video violates any of these parameters, your channel will be issued a community guideline strike.<\/span><\/p>\n

What happens when you violate a community guideline<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Firstly, you will receive an email stating that you have violated a guideline. You may also be notified via desktop or mobile notifications. This will include the affected video and the policies\/guidelines violated by this video.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The first violation is usually treated as a <\/span>warning<\/b>. YouTube gives you this opportunity to make yourself more aware of their guidelines so that you can avoid further strikes.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. If you make another violation after the initial warning, YouTube will issue your <\/span>first strike<\/b>. The strike lasts for 90 days, during which you won\u2019t be allowed to upload, edit, live stream <\/a> or even make changes to playlists during the first week.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. After your upload, edit, etc. privileges are restored. But if you violate the guidelines within the same 90-day period of the first strike, you will receive a <\/span>second strike<\/b>. This time too, the strike is issued for 90 days and your YouTube privileges are withdrawn for 2 weeks.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. During the 90-day strike period of your second strike, if you violate the guidelines again, you will be issued a <\/span>third strike<\/b>. This time, your channel will be permanently removed from YouTube<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n
