Many creators witness profanities and inappropriate phrases in their comment section.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Manually deleting comments can be cumbersome for creators. Instead, they can make use of YouTube\u2019s various comment settings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are primarily two types of comment settings for YouTube; individual video level and channel level.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><strong>1. Individual video level channel settings<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this type of setting, creators can change the comment settings on videos individually. Therefore, different videos can have different types of comment settings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creators can use different subtypes of comment settings that come under this category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h6><strong>Hold all comments for review<\/strong><\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this setting, you have to manually review all the potentially inappropriate comments before they are visible in your comment section. You can do so by going to your <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/studio.youtube.com\/channel\/UCbSUwvcxPL6eSdL040ELY1Q\/comments\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Comments<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> page. Comments saved for reviewing will be under the \u201cHeld for review\u201d tab for 60 days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h6><strong>Allow all comments<\/strong><\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alternatively, you can allow all comments to be visible in your comment section. Your audience can still report the comments. Additionally, comments that violate the Community Guideline of YouTube will be removed. YouTube Studio automatically holds these spam comments under review.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h6><strong>Hold potentially inappropriate comments for review\u00a0<\/strong><\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">YouTube\u2019s system can detect potentially inappropriate comments in over a 100 languages. They will also be held under review in the Comments page under the \u201cHeld for review\u201d tab for 60 days.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h6><strong>Turn of all comments<\/strong><\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you opt for this option, no comments, regardless of their nature, will be published on your video. Thereafter, \u2018Comments are turned off\u2019 will be shown under your video.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><strong>2. Channel level comment settings<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Channel level settings are implemented across all of your channel\u2019s videos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h6><strong>Hidden users<\/strong><\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this setting, you can hide comments from specific users\/commenters. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/youtube\/answer\/9482361\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here&#8217;s<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> how you can block a commenter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, you can also report the commenter for abuse, harassment, inappropriate content etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h6><strong>Blocked words<\/strong><\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">YouTube allows you to add a list of words or phrases that you do not want to show in your comment section to the blocked words list. Comments containing or closely matching these words, will be held under review. Moreover, YouTube also removes live chat messages containing these blocked words.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To add these words or phrases to the list, visit <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/studio.youtube.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">YouTube Studio<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Then from the left, click Settings &gt; Community. Subsequently, you will find the \u201cAutomated Filter\u201d tab. Under this tab, there will be a subheading by the name \u201cBlocked Words\u201d. You can add certain words and phrases and separate them with commas. Save these changes and comments containing these blocked words will not be blocked.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It can be unnerving for creators to see inappropriate comments or spams on their videos.
