The British singer had to pave their own path to success in an unpredictable and hostile industry. Here are some key moments from their journey to success.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>JAZZ BANDS AND YOUTH CHOIRS<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Before entering the pop music industry, Sam was part of Jazz bands during their teens. They also participated in the local Youth Choir and Musical Theater. Their love for musical theater encouraged them to participate in the <a href=\"https:\/\/britishyouthmusictheatre.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">British Youth Music Theater<\/a>. Unfortunately, these did not reach the top of the charts. Although, they did not stop there.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>BREAKTHROUGH AS A FEATURED ARTIST<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sam persisted further and made contact with Elvin Smith, a music manager. After Taylor Swift&#8217;s 1989, it became the second biggest selling album of 2014 in the US. It was also named 2014&#8217;s second best-selling album in the UK, trailing Ed Sheeran&#8217;s X.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this album, Smith won a Guinness World Record for the most consecutive weeks in the UK top 10 by a debut album.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, their achievements did not stop there. <strong>In The Lonely Hour<\/strong> also received 4 Grammys including Song and Record of the Year.
