How To Create YouTube Playlists

First, let’s get down to what YouTube playlists are. YouTube playlists are a list of similar videos grouped together and categorised into multiple lists. Apart from organising videos and helping viewers navigate through your channel, playlists are great with boosting your channel’s views, discoverability and reach. Here’s how you can create a playlist  on YouTube studio and add videos to it.

Step 1

Click on the top right corner of your YouTube homepage, on your channel icon. Choose “YouTube Studio” from the dropdown menu.

Step 2

Select the “videos” tab from the left menu. You’ll get a list of all the videos on your channel.

Step 3

Tick the box on the left hand side of any video you want to add to a playlist. You can also select multiple videos to add in a playlist in bulk.

Step 4

Once you select your videos, more options will pop up towards the top of your “videos” editing screen. Choose the “add to playlist” option.

Step 5

The new pop up box shows existing playlists that you have already created. Tick the appropriate playlists you want your video to show on. You can tick multiple playlists if you want your video to appear on more than one playlist.

Step 6

If you haven’t already created a playlist, you can add a new playlist. Fill in your playlist’s title description and you’re good to go!

Step 7

Finally, in the “visibility” box, choose whether you want your playlist to be private, public or unlisted. Public means your playlist is visible to all viewers, private means it’s only visible to you, and unlisted means that only people with the specific link to your video can view it.

You can also update playlists directly when you’re uploading a new video. Just follow the same steps and you’ll be all set to grow your YouTube channel!
